1. Why use Acoustic Insulated Ducting?

Heat Transfer FAQ

Acoustic Insulated Ducting is used to ensure heat is retained within the system. A lot of heat is lost when transferring to other rooms if the ducting is not correctly insulated, due to the cooler temperature of the ceiling space. In addition to retaining heat, the ‘whisper quiet’ acoustic insulated ducting also reduces the system and air noise to an inaudible level.

2. How much power will this system use?

You can run a Heat Trans system for less than the cost of a light bulb! The one room system uses an amazingly low 46W, which is about half the consumption of an averaged sized light bulb. The two-room system uses up to 80W and the three-room system uses up to 110W.

3. What does the digital thermostat offer?

For the ultimate in control, Heat Trans systems include high quality Ultecon digital controllers which automatically control when the system operates, to maintain your pre-set comfort level in your lounge. The fan will start when the temperature in the heated room reaches your pre-set temperature which is displayed on the thermostat. The 2 and 3 room controllers also include fan speed control. This controls both the fan speed and the temperature giving you ultimate control over how you want the heated air to be transferred to other rooms.

4. Can you control which rooms you want heat transferred to?

The diffusers within your home are easily adjustable to allow balancing of the airflow into each room. Simply twist the centre section of the diffuser to allow more or less air into each room. Or if your diffuser is located in a guest bedroom you can simply close that diffuser completely when the room is not in use

5. What if the fan takes too much/or not enough heated air from the room?

The Ultecon thermostat controller in the 1, 2 and 3 room kits can be set at your preferred temperature, heat will only be transferred once your lounge has reached this set temperature. The 2 and 3 room Heat Trans kits come complete with fan speed control, giving you control over the volume of heated air being transferred.

6. Can I turn the Heat Trans kit into a ventilation system in summer?

Yes. To enable your system to benefit your family all year round, we have a ‘Summer-Vent’ extension kit, which will allow fresh, filtered air to circulate through your Heat Trans diffusers through the hot summer months. This is only introducing fresh air in the warmer months, if you are looking for a complete home ventilation solution please see www.smartvent.co.nz.
